Paul Bierschwale, ARA

Paul has been an appraiser in Texas since 1976 and opened Bierschwale Appraisals in 1980. His experience includes ranches, farms, commercial, industrial and residential properties in over 200 counties in Texas, as well as Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona and New York. He has been active in governing bodies throughout the appraisal profession during his career. Paul served as National President of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA) from October 2005 to February 2007. He served on the first Texas Appraiser Certification Board from 1988 through 1990 and was instrumental in designing the first State Certification requirements for real estate appraisers in Texas. He has taught appraisal to students in over 40 states.

Paul's experience includes over 20 million acres of ranch appraisals, along with special expertise in hydroponic greenhouses and other intensive agricultural operations. He has performed numerous partitions of properties for heirs, represented owners before the IRS and in all levels of courtrooms, from County to State District, to Federal District courts, as well as before other State and Federal agencies. Paul's practice has included significant condemnation appraisal experience, both for condemning entities and landowners who are concerned about being treated fairly in these proceedings.

Paul has been heard to say that he enjoys his work so much that "When they throw the last shovel of dirt in my face after I die, I will be trying to tell them how much it is worth."

Scott Phillips, Agent

Scott Phillips joined Bierschwale Land Company as a sales associate in 2006. After 30 years of teaching and coaching, he began a new career in real estate.

Scott grew up on a ranch in Junction, with a love of the outdoors, including hunting and fishing in the clear waters of Kimble County. His appreciation for the land led him to acquire Kimble County property, making him a fourth generation rancher and property owner in the county. His 26 years as a head coach in Texas high schools from 1A through 5A brings with it a wealth of knowledge in dealing with people. Along the way he coached 2 State Championship football teams (Groveton and Waxahachie) and recorded 238 victories.

Today, Scott has redirected his energies to the real estate industry and he knows the property you have been dreaming of will be his next victory, as satisfied, well represented clients will attest.
